When choosing the email body attribute, you have the option of selecting the "Stripped HTML" option. However, this may result in the omission of important features from your first data output, such as clickable components such as an email address.
Perhaps you've considered using the "From" element to directly retrieve the sender's email address, but haven't.
Our previous piece, "How to Use an Email Parserr to Automate Data Extraction from Inquiries," showed how to extract the email address of potential leads by leveraging the "From" element of the email message itself. There was also information on how to have emails from a different account automatically sent to your Parserr inbox, which was discussed in detail.
According to the information provided in that article, the "From" property was utilised since sample emails were sent by the leads themselves. This implies that for the data extraction, the "Form" attribute on Parserr will utilise their own email addresses instead of the ones provided by the user.
If, on the other hand, your leads submit their information using a contact form on your website, the sender's email address may look something like this:
This will momentarily refresh the parsing rule configuration window and display all of the rule steps that are currently available under the selected category. Simply keep clicking the right arrow till you reach the rule step where you must "Find all email addresses."
By selecting "Save," Parserr will immediately apply the rule step to the initial data output that was previously selected. As long as the data in the "Content After Filter" section has a single email address, it indicates that your parsing rule is effective.
To complete your parsing rule, give it a name and click "Save Rule" at the bottom of the page to save it to your computer. It should now be possible to see your new rule in the list of active rules on your Parserr dashboard.
The email address is merely one sort of information that can be extracted using Parserr. There are many other forms of information that can be extracted.
When utilising the same sample email above, one method of extracting your lead's full name is to use the "Find all text before" rule step and insert the left-angle bracket that comes before the email address. Afterwards, you'll need to build a "Search and replace" rule step in order to delete the phrase "From:" from the data.
