Salesforce Email Automation Strategies for Beginners

To get started with email automation, there are a few strategies that you can use to improve your campaigns right away!

The first strategy is called lead scoring and it's used to rank your leads based on the actions they take. For example, if someone downloads an ebook from your website, they might automatically qualify as a sales lead.

This means that this person would be in the top of your salesforce marketing cloud contact database and you could start an email campaign to them right away!

Another strategy for beginners is called list segmentation. With list segmentation, you can create dynamic lists based on actions people take when filling out your salesforce contact database.

For example, you could create a list called "New Leads" which contains all of your sales leads who have not been contacted yet.

You can then send them an email campaign with special offers that are only available to new customers!

Salesforce Email Automation Tools for Marketing Campaigns

Now let's talk about some of the email automation tools that are available to help you produce better results. One popular tool is called SendGrid and it helps you to improve your deliverability rates.

Another great tool is called Pardot and it allows you to create marketing campaigns that are personalized for each individual recipient.

Finally, another popular choice is Mad Mimi which is an email marketing service that makes it easy to create salesforce marketing cloud campaigns.

Businesses can use marketing automation to send automated messages to customers via email, online, social media, and text. Messages are sent automatically, according to processes, which are sets of instructions.

Workflows can be specified by templates, constructed from the ground up, or changed mid-campaign to improve results.

To improve income and maximise efficiency, marketing and sales departments utilise marketing automation to automate online marketing campaigns and sales activities.

Employees are freed to tackle higher-order problems when automation is employed successfully to perform repetitive activities, and human error is decreased.

Marketing automation aids in the production, nurturing, and scoring of leads, as well as the measurement of total campaign ROI.

The benefits of automation in terms of saving time and money increases as a company expands in size and complexity. Good marketing automation solutions are built to grow with your company.

What is the purpose of marketing automation?

Marketing automation, in its most basic form, is a set of technologies designed to streamline and automate some of the most time-consuming tasks in modern marketing and sales professions.

Automation is all about simplifying a corporate world that is becoming far too complex, far too quickly, from automating the lead qualification process to building a hub for digital campaign design.

You may use marketing automation to establish a digital marketing strategy without having to manually send each email, message, campaign, or post you make.

Good automation solutions aid in the identification of your target audience, the creation of appropriate content, and the automatic execution of activities based on schedules and consumer behaviour.

Once your campaign is up and running, you can focus on other duties before analysing and tweaking your marketing strategy as the results come in.

While you focus on expanding your business, an automated marketing plan can save you time and money while driving revenue and ROI.

What is marketing salesforce email automation and how does it work?

Customer data is collected through a variety of interactions, including emails, website visits, app usage, social media posts, and so on.

This information aids in the creation of a 360-degree image of each customer.

From there, marketing automation takes over, automating segmentation and targeting processes to swiftly and efficiently identify the relevant audiences.

Automatically tailoring messaging to each customer based on their profile. With a few simple clicks, you can create relevant and personalised messaging for email, mobile, social, online experiences, and more.

Providing individualised experiences for your clients in an efficient and effective manner, whether you have 100 or 100 million.

What does customer journey marketing automation imply?

Customer journeys are the total of each customer's unique interactions with your company. Marketing automation allows you to personalise every encounter based on customer data, resulting in continuous, seamless journeys across all brand touchpoints.

Marketing automation generates relevant content and communications across multiple channels at a large scale.

Send email messages with dynamic content that goes beyond using a customer's first name in the subject line to truly customise the message.

SMS/MMS, push alerts, and group messaging can all be used to integrate mobile messaging with your email and social marketing.

Create digital ads that appear at the appropriate time for the right person. Plus, automatically recommend the proper products for each individual customer on your website.

You can approach clients at any point in the customer lifecycle, from acquisition through advocacy, with marketing automation.

Convert prospects into lifelong brand champions by providing timely, relevant content that reaches customers when, when, and how they like.

What are some best practises for marketing automation?

When creating your marketing automation approach, keep the following best practises in mind:

Define and communicate your objectives. To persuade your stakeholders to invest in a marketing automation platform, use real numbers.

Collaboration with other teams is a must. Several departments in your company will be affected by your marketing automation plan. Before you start, get their advice and buy-in.

Make visualisations of the process. Use thorough illustrations of your marketing automation workflow to efficiently and effectively communicate your big picture goals to your whole team.

Make sure you're ready for database segmentation. Take a look at your customer information. Consider who you want to engage and why.

Make a plan for your material. Create a content library. Create messaging that is intriguing, engaging, and relevant at all stages of the customer lifecycle.

Prepare for a gradual rollout. The most successful marketing automation companies in the world deploy their products in stages. To offer yourself the best chance of success, test early and optimise the following block of programmes.

Analyze your progress as you go. Examine what works and what doesn't. Utilize part of the time you have freed up from automation to go deeper into the statistics and make the improvements that will help your company flourish.

Automatically send emails from Salesforce

Many of your team members' days are occupied by writing and sending emails rather than focusing on projects. With email templates, you relieved your team of the responsibility of actually writing some emails.

You can now set up emails to be delivered automatically depending on Salesforce events using Workflow Rules or Process Builders, allowing your staff to focus on more productive work.

Workflow Regulations

Workflow Rules automate the sending of emails so your team doesn't have to! When something happens in Salesforce, workflow rules are activated automatically.

Workflow rules can be triggered by a new Opportunity being created, a Lead's status being updated to a specified value, and a variety of other events.

After you've written your rule in Salesforce to fire depending on an action, you'll need to link your current email alert to the rule.

Then, once you've activated Salesforce, you'll be ready to send emails automatically!

Builders of Processes

Process Builders are more advanced configurations that can also be used to send out email alerts.

When compared to a workflow rule, process builders provide you a lot more options for sending an email and allow you to develop more complicated situations. If you're new to Salesforce, send emails using workflow rules for the time being.

However, after you're more comfortable with your configuration skills, see how a process builder may be used to automate emails, allowing your staff to focus on other vital responsibilities.

Salesforce Emails Email Reports

One last feature of Salesforce email that you might not be aware of is the option to deliver Salesforce Reports automatically by email to whomever you want, when you want, and with only the most recent Report content.

When you instruct Salesforce to refresh a report, it will do so automatically, ensuring that the information is totally up to date.

Then you choose whether you want the updated report emailed to only yourself or to additional users you choose.

Finally, you choose when you want the report to be emailed, whether it's at the end of the week, two weeks, a month, or another period. Sending updated reports to users via Salesforce saves time because they don't have to track down each other to find the information they require.

The first method is to use Salesforce's email capabilities.

Salesforce's Email Capabilities allow you to send three different sorts of emails:

  • Sending a Contact or Lead a one-time email
  • Sending emails to a small group
  • Within a Campaign, send an email to your Campaign Members.

Let's take a closer look at each of the three types.

Sending One-off Emails to a Salesforce Contact- or Lead-based object

One way to send an email is by using the New Email button on a Contact or Lead record, or from within a related list.

When you use this method, Salesforce will prefill the email address for you and all you need to do is type in your message. You also have the option of attaching a file to the email.

Sending emails to a small group of people via Salesforce

Another option is to use Workflow Rules or Process Builders if you want your team members to be able to send out an email together, but only with some specific information in it.

For example, say that sales reps on your team need a list of Accounts that are overdue for a call.

You can create a Workflow Rule to send an email notification to sales reps when that happens, and the email will include only the list of Accounts with delinquent statuses.

Creating Campaign Emails

If you want to send out emails to a larger group of people, you can use Salesforce's Campaign feature.

When you use a Campaign, you can choose to send an email blast to all of the people in the Campaign or just to some of them.

You also have control over who sees your email—whether it goes out to everyone on your mailing list or just those who meet certain criteria, such as being located in a specific country.

Sending Reports Automatically by Email

Salesforce can also be instructed to send out Reports automatically by email.

This is a great way to keep your team members up-to-date on the latest happenings, and it eliminates the need for them to constantly check Salesforce for new information.
