Do you love sales?

It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. If not for us, who would go out and meet with potential customers. Salespeople are pushy - or so we've been told. With a client-focused approach, it doesn't have to be that way.

In this blog post we will discuss why you should love sales and 10 reasons why I love being in the business of selling!

Let's start with the basics.

What do you love about sales?

For me, it has to be working toward a goal and being challenged. In my career I have been involved in projects that were challenging from the get go, but also had some deadlines along the way so there was no time for slacking off!

Sales is similar - the goal is to learn about your client, their needs and wants - what they love or hate about a product. Then you have a "pitch" where you try to convince them that your solution is the one for them.

Have I got you intrigued yet?  Do you want more reasons why sales makes me love my job?  There's lots more - how about helping customers?  You love to help people, right?

This is no different in sales. We love making sure our clients are well taken care of and want them to feel confident that they made the right choice with us!

Another thing I love about being a salesman is getting paid for results. No matter what business you're in, I think we can all agree that it's great to get paid for a job well done.

In sales, you love the fact that you're going to get your commission check at the end of this month! Oh yeah - and if you love meeting people, there is no better career than selling products or services directly to consumers.

What's love got to do with it?

Everything! If you love what you are doing, I can guarantee that your customers will feel the love too.

You have lots of reasons why sales is great - but here's one more for good measure: no two days are ever alike! You never know who or what is going to be on the other end of that phone or in the office when you get there. It's never boring, love it!

Finally, I love sales because it has allowed me to meet so many great people. People have been very supportive of my career and never judged me for being a salesman - they love me the way I am!

For that reason, you should love sales too. You don't need any more reasons than those! :)

I ended up in the field of sales. However, I'm pleased I did. My professional sales career began many years ago.

I'm becoming more and more intrigued with the profession with each passing year.

The following are ten reasons why I enjoy sales:

1. Sales is about helping people-

You love to help people, right?

This is no different in sales. We love making sure our clients are well taken care of and want them to feel confident that they made the right choice with us!

Sales also allows me to meet new customers each day. I have been able to build a community around my business through relationships built over the years. It’s an occupation where you spend your time helping those around you.

2. Sales deals in the impossible-

No two days are ever alike! You never know who or what is going to be on the other end of that phone or in the office when you get there. It's never boring love it!

I love sales because no day is like any other, and I love challenging myself with new things every single day. There’s always something new to learn.

My love of sales is also driven by the fact that it provides me with a career where I never go home knowing all there is to know about my work. Each day, each person and each company brings something new to the table for me to study and take in. It’s exciting!

I love being challenged. Sales allows me to love what I do every day.

3. Sales is about continuous learning-

Sales is challenging. It requires you to be on top of your game, and love learning new things!

Sales also allows me to meet new customers each day. I have been able to build a community around my business through relationships built over the years.

It’s an occupation where you spend your time helping those around you.

There isn't a day that passes that I don't learn anything new. School is always in session when you're in sales.

You could argue that being a life-long student is something that everyone should strive towards. Nonetheless, learning comes naturally when you have the opportunity to market to a wide range of people and organisations.

4. Sales is about the unexpected-

You love the unexpected, right?

Well sales is exactly that. You never know who or what is going to be on the other end of that phone or in the office when you get there! It's never boring love it!

This job can take me anywhere and I love meeting new people all over the place every day (and night). As a sales executive, I love knowing that each day will be different than the last and never boring.

The unexpected is also what makes this job so challenging.

You can expect to face many challenges when you’re in sales - but every challenge has a solution if you love problem-solving! It's all part of growing as an individual.

I'll be the first to confess that I don't always appreciate the unexpected, but I've come to accept and expect it through the years.

It's astonishing how much a person's attitude on life can change when the unexpected becomes the expected. I've learned to roll with the punches and recognise what I can and cannot influence.

5. Sales is about unlimited opportunities-

There are no limits in sales; it is a profession that offers countless choices. The only limits in sales are self-imposed..

6. Sales is about being an optimist-

Sales is all about believing things will happen. Things are only impossible if you believe they are!

Long before I started into sales, I considered myself an optimist, but being rejected as frequently as you are in this industry makes you an even larger optimist.

Call me insane for thinking that way, but it's amazing what can happen when you keep a good attitude.

7. Sales creates relationships-

Sales is all about building relationships with people. You love making friendships and connections, right?

At the end of the day, it's not about pushing products; it's about connecting and communicating with your customers to figure out what they need most.

I love that my job allows me to build lasting friendships and relationships - both on-site and online.

It's all about the relationships you build and foster with others. Sales allows me to love what I do every day, because it gives me a chance to love people!

The idea of sales is simple: You love meeting new people and making friends? Well that’s why we love sales - there are no limits in terms of how many relationships you form.

I love building relationships, and I love having the opportunity to build them every day! You can't put a price on human connection - it's why we feel so alone at times when technology takes over our lives.

Throughout my sales career, I've had the opportunity to meet a wide range of people from many walks of life, each with their own unique storey. Long-term relationships have proven to be quite beneficial.

This is something I never expected to see when I first started in sales. I didn't realise how significant it was until now.

8. Sales is about overcoming obstacles-

Sales is all about meeting challenges head-on. You love a challenge, right?

I love the fact that there are always new obstacles to overcome - it provides me with constant opportunities for growth and improvement!

I love facing each obstacle as if it were my last. Sales has taught me how to be persistent even in the worst of circumstances; no matter how tough it gets, this job helps me love pushing through.

Throughout my sales career I have faced many obstacles and challenges, but each one has helped me grow as an individual - forcing me to develop new strategies for overcoming adversity.

This is something that’s been very important in helping form the person I am today! It's taught me a love for problem solving.

Like any job, sales can be tough at times - but it's the perfect industry to love overcoming obstacles and challenges with your mind!

I'm grateful that sales isn't for the faint of heart. The problems I've had to deal with throughout the years, and the lessons I've gained from them, have unquestionably improved me as a person.

My project management and process development skills are unquestionably superior than what they were a few years ago. Sales pressure has helped me hone such abilities.

9. Sales offers unlimited rewards-

Sales isn't just about the money. You love making your own hours, right?

Sales allows you to set your own schedule and work around other priorities in life - it's all up to you! I love that my job offers me unlimited rewards at any time of day or night. It's like working whenever I want; it doesn't feel like I'm working at all!

One of the most surprising things about sales was just how flexible my schedule could be. It allowed me to love what I did, while still having time for friends and family.

Sales is definitely not a conventional profession - you won't find many others with similar work-life balance capabilities in other industries!

Because I work in sales, I've been able to accomplish significantly more. Sales has presented me with incredible rewards, from Super Bowls to remote islands in the Philippines to speaking in front of thousands.

10. Sales provides personal satisfaction-

People love to work hard, right?

Sales is all about working smart - it's never a game of luck. It requires an immense amount of dedication and determination in order to succeed; I love the personal satisfaction that comes with reaching milestones!

I love knowing that if you put your mind to something, there will be no stopping you until you love it! I love the fact that when you love what you do, success is inevitable - there's just no way to fail.

The personal satisfaction in sales comes from knowing how much effort has gone into achieving specific milestones over time. It makes all of the hard work feel worth it at the end of each day!

Sales provides a love for the personal satisfaction that comes from achieving challenging milestones. I love seeing my hard work pay off, and it's been a great way to grow as an individual!

I can't see sitting behind a desk punching numbers or doing anything else for a long time in sales. My attitude on life and how I approach everything has been affected by the personal gratification I've gained.
