Leadpages vs Instapage: A Comprehensive Guide To How Landing Pages Work!

Landing pages are the backbone of any online marketing campaign. But when you're just starting out or looking to build a new website, which is better: Leadpages or Instapage? The truth is that both landing pages can be successful in the right hands. Let's take a look at why these two landing page builders are among the most popular on the market today.

Leadpages vs Instapage: Introduction

Leadpages and Instapage are two of the most popular landing page builders on the market today. Both companies have been in business for a long time, but only recently has it become apparent that these tools can be used to build quality websites quickly and easily.

Leadpages vs Instapage: What's The Difference?

The differences between Leadpages and Instapage are fairly obvious when you look at them head-on, but each company offers something unique as well. It all comes down to how your pages will be designed – which is why both products offer unlimited templates ( which are free) and a variety of creative options.

The biggest difference between these two landing page builders is how they're designed to work. Leadpages was founded in 2009, so it has been around for quite some time now. Instapage debuted on the market just last year, but its founders have experience building websites since 2007!

Both companies offer unlimited templates (which can be purchased through their website), as well as other marketing tools like opt-in forms, popup windows and more – which makes them great choices for beginners or those looking to build a new site quickly with little cost involved.

Leadpages vs Instapage: What's The Same?

In addition to the above, both Leadpages and Instapage offer a number of free templates that can be used as-is. This is great for those who are just starting out or looking to build their first website quickly – you won't need to spend money on any additional designs if you don't want to.

Both companies also provide a variety of marketing tools (like popups) which make it easy for your pages to get noticed by potential customers. If this sounds like something that would work best for you, then both Leadpages and Instapage are great choices to consider.

Leadpages vs Instapage: Who Should Use Each?

If you're looking for a landing page builder that offers the most value at an affordable price – look no further than Leadpages or Instapage.

Both have been around for quite some time now (and continue to be updated with new features), so they offer plenty of options when it comes to creating your own website quickly and easily without spending any money on design services or templates from other companies.

Other things we like about both Leadpages’ and Instapage are the fact that they both have a number of free templates to choose from – which makes them great choices for beginners or those looking to build their first website quickly.

Features Comparison

In this section, we will take a look at the features offered by both companies so that you can decide which one is better suited to your needs and what it offers over the other. Both services offer many different lead generation tools, but they also differ in how they are presented on their website, as well as some of the things that each company does not provide (such as custom domains).

The following are some features that you get while using Leadpages:

  1. Leadpages gives you the ability to create a number of different types of landing pages.
  2. It also has a number of different types of content that you can use to promote your page.
  3. You also have the ability to add images, graphics and videos, which will help increase conversions. You are able to create an unlimited amount of landing pages within Leadpages – meaning you don't need any additional software or services for this purpose (which is great).

The following are some features that you get while using Instapage:

  1. Instapage offers more than just one type of landing page builder.
  2. It gives users the option of being able to build their own website from scratch or choosing from its extensive collection of pre-made templates.
  3. Instapage also has a number of different types of content that you can use to promote your page. You are able to create an unlimited amount of landing pages within Instapage – meaning you don't need any additional software or services for this purpose (which is great).

It's important to note that both Leadpages and Instapage have their own pricing plans, but it should be noted that the prices listed below are only those which will apply if you choose not to use one or the other as your main service provider.

Leadpages vs Instapage: Landing Page Publishing Options

The next step after you've finished developing your landing page is to publish it logically so that you can start sending traffic to your page. In just a few clicks, you can publish your landing page to a hosted subdomain using both tools. Both make it easy to publish your landing pages to your own domains utilizing generic methods as well as dedicated WordPress plugins.

Although both tools are great, there is a big difference between the two. Leadpages offers you more options to customize your landing pages, whereas Instapage only gives you one option – which is to create a custom page using their pre-made templates (or by uploading an image).

Lead Magnet Functionality

Lead Magnet functionality is a great feature that both Leadpages and Instapage offer. It's an easy way to get visitors to your landing pages, but the difference lies in how you can use it.

Instapage offers more options than just one type of lead magnet:

Lead Magnet 1 – A text message with a link back to your website (3 fields). This leads them directly into their email inbox without having any interaction on their part whatsoever. The only thing they need is for you or someone else who has access to send them this message.

Lead Magnet 2 – Another great way to gain leads is by using a lead magnet. In this case, it's an email form. This makes them fill out their information and then send you back the same form via email for you to collect your data.

Lead Magnet 3 – The third type of lead magnet that Instapage offers is also one of my favourites: A video with a link back to your website (3 fields). I personally use this method all the time on almost every landing page so having access to it here at Instapage was very handy!

In addition to these lead magnets, you can also use a Lead Magnet 2 or Lead Magnet 3 with an image. This is great for adding more interest and making your visitor want to click on it before they even visit the landing page.

With this feature, Instapage has taken all of the guesswork out of creating effective lead magnet pages that get visitors interested in clicking through to your website without them having any interaction whatsoever (which means less work on your part). The only thing they need is for someone who has access to send them an email message which contains a link back to your website.

The only difference between the two is that Instapage allows you to use a third-party app, like MailChimp or AWeber, for their Lead Magnets. This means if you choose this option, your visitors will have no direct access to your landing page, and they won't be able to leave feedback on it (unless, of course, they are using one of these other apps).

However, with Leadpages' lead magnet functionality, there's nothing stopping them from clicking on any button in the email message and being taken directly into your landing page without having any interaction whatsoever.

The only difference between these two options is that Instapage allows you to send an email message containing a link back to your website, which means if someone clicks through from their phone (which most people do nowadays), then there will be no need for them ever leaving feedback at all – unless, of course, they are using one of these other apps like MailChimp.

Leadpages vs Instapage: Pricing Comparison

In this section, we will take a look at the pricing of both services and see how they compare to each other.

For every single person who has signed up for either service, you get one lead magnet page that can be used on your website, which is completely free with no monthly or annual fees (although there are some limitations when it comes to using Leadpages' apps).

You also have access to their API, so if you wanted more than just one lead magnet, then all you would need is another account which costs $99 per month.

Instapage promo offers a variety of pricing options for your website. The company has the highest monthly or annual plans that include everything you need to run your site on their platform.

Instapage offers three different tiers of leads:

  • Basic: $19 per month
  • Standard: $29 per month
  • Premium: $49 per month

Leadpages has a similar approach with their three different tiers of leads and also has the ability to send two emails at once, which is something that Instapage does not offer. The only difference between these two services is in how many pages you can create on your website for free, as well as having access to LeadPages' API (which we will go into more detail about later).

For example, if you want one lead magnet page, then both companies would give it to you for free, but if you wanted to create two pages, then you would have to pay $99 per month for Premium.

A/B testing: It's simple to utilize both tools to run split tests

Leadpages has the ability to create up to 50 different variations of one page, so you can test out which ones are working best. You would just need two pages and then use Instapage's A/B testing feature (which is also free) to run a split test between them.

Instapage does not have this option, but they do offer something called "advanced segmentation", which allows you to set up your own custom segments in their marketing automation tool that will allow for more advanced lead scoring based on certain criteria, including geolocation, device type, visitor source etc. Leadpages also offers some other advanced features such as:

Dynamic text - This allows you to make dynamic changes to your website's content without having to create a whole new page. You can do this by using their drag and drop feature, which is really easy (just copy the code from an existing page).

For example, if you wanted the "Contact Us" button on your site, then all you would need is one line of code for each variation. We have shown how this works in our article about Leadpages' Drag & Drop Marketing.

SEO Scorecard - This will show what keywords and phrases are driving the most traffic to your website and who is leading those searches. You can then use this information to optimize your pages for more targeted visitors.

SEO Audit - This will show you what keywords have been ranking on Google, as well as how many times they appear on each search result page (SERP). You would then be able to see which ones need optimizing or if there are any that aren't performing very well so you could make changes accordingly.

Link Building Tools - Both companies offer a wide range of link building services, including blog commenting, guest blogging, article writing, etc.

Conclusion

We have shown that Leadpages and Instapage are both great tools for driving more traffic to your website. They each offer a variety of different features that will allow you to create amazing landing pages, lead capture forms and other marketing automation options.

Leadpages is slightly easier to use than Instapage because it allows you to get started quickly with their drag & drop feature while also offering some advanced segmentation features such as geolocation targeting (which we haven't seen on any other tool). However, if you want the most functionality, then we would recommend choosing either one over the other based on your needs.

If you are looking to connect with contacts across your entire revenue operations (Leads, Prospects, Existing, and Churned Clients), Cliently would be a great way to engage at scale. Sometimes multiple tools can leave blind spots in who's engaging, how they're engaging, and when to engage. This is where Cliently could benefit you the most.
